Sweet Potato Thoughts

As I sit on my brick porch I think fondly back to the time when I was a teenager sitting on my parents brick porch cradling a coffee mug. Well, not much has changed as far as that habit goes. I like my coffee hot and my mornings below fifty. The cold makes me calm. I don’t know what about it does.

Anyway, today I’m talking about my future sweet potato. You may be wondering, is this another of SmilingCoffeeCup’s funny euphemism’s? Well, friends, I’m actually talking about my future sweet potato crop. Next year, I intend to grow my first raised bed. I will be growing them from sweet potato slips. Slips are shoots grown from a mature sweet potato plant.

Like 1 Corinthians “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has given the growth. For it is God’s field.”

It is through that alone that we grow.
