Update #2: Crafting- Pallet Craft

This week I’ve been working on a coffee pallet rack.

Well, I think by this point you probably know what I’m getting at.

I used a pallet my neighbor so generously gave me, a hammer, nails and done hooks I bought at Home Depot.

I will post a photo soon once it’s completed.

Blessing #4: Cinnamon-Rolls-so-good-you’ll-lose-count

I sit looking out my window at the grey sky, misty-moisty hills covered in fog, and the bright, almost neon leaves outside. I’m so blessed to have this place. Wow, I’m in awe of being alone in PA as my first solo move.

Yesterday, the weather was much the same. I felt dreary like the whole state needed a little sunshine. So I found one of my favorite hobbies—baking!! I baked some INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE cinnamon rolls. That coincidentally we had for our friend who came for brunch!

Cinnamon rolls so good you’ll lose count of how many you’ve had.

DELICIOUS CINNAMON ROLLS!

Travel #1: New- Orleans-travels

I gingerly sip the rest of my latte and peer out the window at the rolling hills flush with green. What a beautiful creation this world is, honestly who could think twice about not embracing such a beautiful planet and world. The world now is so confused and utterly turned on it’s head, right now, it seems.

Aside from that little bout of thought on today’s world life goes on. Some music to brighten your morning :).

Though truly if someone were to ask me every day is a miracle and quite an extra-ordinary experience. Each day presents a new way to give to others and to impact others in loving ways. Sometimes by just a simple gesture. That is what brings me joy.

I am reflecting this morning on the splendors and beauty I experienced recently on my fiance and I’s roadtrip to New Orleans. What an adventure!! And I got to meet my future in-laws and more of his family too. The second night we were there we went to a Jazz Bar to The Spotted Cat. The first I had ever been to. So Loud! So much Fun!!

Update #1 on Country Living

The winds are brisk today 43 degrees to be exact with a sharp wind that’s bound to make your nose cold and cheeks rosy.

Paradise apple tree

Today, on my walk I came across a currant tree and a Paradise apple tree.

It’s so peaceful outside not a sound.

There are a good deal of Robins and blue jays flying and flitting about outside. Despite the month being April it is still dastardly cold outside and sadly most of my flowers are down and out.

I truly am feeling the cold of PA.

I’ve been making coffee on a regular morning basis pretty much in the dark still. It was very misty moist-y wet this morning.

I just realized I have to watch Shawshank Redemption or Snowpiercer for an assignment due tonight.

So toodles friends! Have a lovely evening

Inspiration from Poppins: England

“Anything can happen if you let it.”

This somewhat comical and very inspirational song in Mary Poppins, my favorite Disney movie, though honestly, it’s a tossup with Beauty and the Beast. Mary Poppins is one of my favorite Disney heroines whose lyrics I try to live out. This song is so inspirational and urges you “to reach for the stars.” Everything about this song, I wish to emulate in my own life. “Life is out there so go and get it, grab it by the collar.”

Sincerely, Brownie

As I stepped inside, a warm chocolatey goodness overcame me. It was raining outside and very cloudy. The day held something melancholy in it. I had been active most of the day riding my bike and writing on my blog. So, I think a brownie is in accord with my efforts, though somewhat counter-productive. I try and weigh the chocolate equally with bananas and healthier brownie ingredients.

After my brownie goodness, I walked into the cool winds of Kansas, blowing against my face like a Mexican desert wind.

As I walked down the long row of benches lining the sidewalk I saw the City Hall sign. It hung there in a melancholy state as if it hadn’t been ready for another Monday either. I was on a quest to return my inter-library loan books to our small library. Being Monday the library and coincidentally the city hall building was locked, no surprise there. Thankfully, there is a drop box for books. As I gingerly shoved the books through the slot I felt the heat from the metal flit across my fingers angrily.

After making several laps around town to burn calories I returned to my house for a protein-rich lunch of egg and toast. My water intake I have been increasing which has lead me to be more energetic. Also, I think my XHIT workouts and walking has been helping considerably.

Though I have been cutting calories and watching what I eat.

When it all boils down, I’m human, imperfect and have a flawed will.

            -And I crave brownies.

Brownies have been a part of my baking repertoire for quite some time. I find that they are easy to make and will satisfy just about any crowd. I myself am a huge fan of their chocolatey goodness. As previously noted I have been a huge fan of muggable desserts which does not involve mugging, no pun intended.

I have found an abundance of recipes almost a recipe for any mood or event you’re having. It’s a sure-fire way to satisfy your inner cravings with just a little portion.

The Mountains Are Calling

Hello, my followers!

Have you ever had a dream about somewhere you’ve always wanted to go? Maybe France to see the Eifel Tower? Or Jamaica to bask on the warm beaches?

My dream is a little different I have always had my heart set on visiting Montpelier Vermont. Montpelier is the capitol and is actually a lot smaller than other cities in Vermont. The capitol building has a man standing on it that when made became crooked. The three biggest exports are marble, maple syrup, and apples. The famous Vontrapp family that starred in The Sound of Music, with the renowned Julia Andrews, lived in the Vermont state. The state name is in fact, named after the French words for green mountain, “Ver” & “Mont”. The state of Vermont was actually its own country until it was admitted to the United States as the 14th state.

And dare I mention that Ben&Jerry’s Icecream, Green Mountain Coffee, King Arthur Flour, Biotek, and the National Life Insurance Company. The highest paying jobs in Vermont are composed of various medical fields including internists, dentists, anesthesiologists, surgeons, gynecologists etc. Bleh, so the freelance writer doesn’t have the greatest chance… But there is a publishing company called Tuttle Publishing, that interests me. Teaching is always an option too. Also, there are some amazing bakeries.

I am so in love with the Vermont mountains I someday hope to see.

The mountains are calling and I must go.
